ZOOM MEETING: Canada Day Celebration: Senator In Waiting Mike Shaikh

Make sure you are wearing your red and white colours proudly. Make sure you have the maple leaf flag and other memorabilia visible on the ZOOM meeting. To help us celebrate, the Programs Committee, led by Jim Fitzowich, and assisted in this case by Dilan Perera have made arrangements to have Senator in Waiting, Mike Shaikh as our speaker on Thursday, July 2nd.

Mike was born in Pakistan in 1948 and immigrated to Canada in his 20’s. Professionally, Mike is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta, having run an accounting practice for over 30 years. He is Past Chair of the Calgary Police Commission, is on the Board of Directors for three public companies and is a Director of several private companies and not for profit organizations. Mike has received numerous community awards, but most notably for our Rotary Club, Mike received the Integrity Award from Rotary International when the International Conference was held in Calgary. Mike will speak to us about a number of topics, including why it is great to be Canadian.

It is a distinct honour and privilege to have Mike speak to us. Let’s seize this Opportunity and show Mike what proud Canadians we are. On Thursday, July 2nd, please plan to attend our first ever, Canada Day Celebration
